Welcome to Cardeau! Follow these steps to set up your account and start selling digital gift cards on your website.
- Create your account at cardeau.ca/register. Enter your business name, email, province, and create a password. You will receive a verification email to confirm your account.
- Complete the onboarding wizard (6 steps). After verifying your email, you will be guided through six steps: business details, branding setup, card design upload, gift card settings, Stripe connection, and embed code generation.
- Connect your Stripe account. Cardeau uses Stripe Connect for all payment processing. You will be redirected to Stripe to create or connect an account. This includes identity verification and bank account setup. Gift card purchases will be deposited directly into your Stripe account.
- Add your first card design. Upload a gift card design image (recommended: 800 x 506px, 1.58:1 aspect ratio). You can add multiple designs for your customers to choose from.
- Copy your embed code. Navigate to Dashboard > Embed to find your unique embed code. It looks like this:

- Paste the embed code on your website. Add the script tag to any page on your website where you want the gift card purchase form to appear. Add a <div id="cadeau-gift-cards"></div> element where you want the widget to render.
Tip: The entire setup process typically takes less than 10 minutes. You can start selling gift cards immediately after completing onboarding.
